The sister of SFC Liam J. Nevins, a U.S. Army Soldier who died in Afghanistan in 2013, completes her trek to the Gold Star Peak summit in honor of her fallen brother.
SFC Liam J. Nevins of Denver, Colorado was assigned to 5th Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group. SFC Liam J. Nevins was 32 years old when he died Sept. 21, at Forward Operating Base Shank of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire while conducting range training in Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan. Also killed in the incident were Staff Sgt. Timothy McGill and Spc. Joshua Strickland.
